Who We Are

DIGITS, was founded in 2006. Our core business is designed to help our clients take full advantage of today’s information technologies while guarding against the ever-changing threats posed by those very technologies. Headquartered in suburban Buffalo, New York, DIGITS offers world-class expertise in computer forensic and data recovery services, corporate computer investigations, litigation support services, and network security advisory services. DIGITS principals boast unrivaled expertise gained in distinguished careers in the federal, state and local criminal justice arenas as well as in Academia and the Private Sector.


Michael G. McCartney
Michael McCartney is recognized as one of the pioneers of Computer Investigations & Computer Forensics and is an internationally recognized expert in the field. He is a member of several federal scientific and technical working groups on digital evidence handling, processing and computer investigations. He is the current 2nd Vice President of the High Technology Crime Investigators Association (HTCIA) North East Chapter. Michael has lectured extensively to federal, state and local enforcement entities as well as the legal bar in numerous states. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists and the former head of the Analytical and Forensic Technologies Unit of a Big Five accounting Firm. He has consensus authored several books on digital evidence and law enforcement standards and is a valued member of State and Federal Task forces. James L. Domres
During his 30 year Law Enforcement career, co-founder Jim Domres has been entrusted with a wide range of investigative and supervisory assignments. He is a highly decorated member of Law Enforcement, with his efforts being recognized in the United States Congressional Record. His innovations and abilities have made him a recognized expert in the areas of Computer Investigations and Computer Forensics. He is a leader and member of several State and Federal Task Forces and is a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner. He has testified in court as a computer expert, and is also an Adjunct Instructor at Hilbert College teaching Computer Investigations, Computer Security and Computer Forensics.
